In the 8th grade, I took my first ever back-country camping trip with the Adventure Treks group as a part of a school-sponsored trip. That experience inspired me to take another Adventure Treks trip the following summer. A 3-week, backcountry trip to California. That trip taught me a great deal about leadership, responsibility, and how to work with others. It also exposed me to physical and mental challenges that while difficult, only further sparked my love for outdoor adventures.
